In other words, don’t sit by the phone and bite your nails out of nervousness….you will have only one left….maybe. Let’s revise this, and I’ll tell you why!

cell_phone_for_kidsWith a pre-medical background, my fingers  flip through medical journals instead of Okay or US but occasionally I do dab in some social gossip, mind you, Jennifer Aniston is looking BOMB! In a new study published in JAMA Internal Medicine, one-third of primary care physicians admitted they had neglected to contact a patient in a timely fashion about abnormal findings because they’d missed an electronic alert from the lab.

Say Whaaaaaaat?! yup. yup. It’s true and it’s been published! Most cited– info overload, saying the volume of notifications they receive (about 63 per day) is simply too high, according to coauthor  Hardeep Singh, M.D., of the Houston VA Health Services Research Center of Excellence.

“Always call your doctor to follow up.” Dr.Singh says, “even if you were told you would hear back only if there was a problem.”

Yes sir! That I can do! Give your physician about 3 days then its okay to call them. Remember YOU are in charge of your OWN health. NO ONE KNOWS YOUR BODY OR WILL CARE FOR YOUR BODY LIKE YOU DO.
