I spent most of my time romanticizing in and out of the French Quarters and surrounding nearby areas of New Orleans. In a city where their bread n’ butter comes from an image as unauthentic as the beads themselves so much lays beneath the surface if you travel smart. The French Quarter is the city’s oldest historic neighborhood. It’s a town that speaks in shadows and the steady flow of bitter sweet liquor that soothes the imbibing soul. Being the quintessential home of the cocktail, New Orleans has drinking down to a lifestyle, a business and an art, not to mention you can walk with your drink in hand as you peruse town. Feeling thirsty? Not a problem, let’s walk and drink, cause my friend we have lots of street musicians to tip and live music to wander to. One thing I gather quickly, there is no formula for a trip to New Orleans, and that my Smart is Sexyloves is one reason New Orleans will have me coming back for more!
It’s Tuesday and you’re ready to knock this week out of the park again. Since the start of the Olympics in Sochi, Russia I can’t help but feel inspired by what each athlete represents – a level of excellence and recognition reached by talent, intelligence and exposure. Wintertime in SoCal may not snow like other beautiful parts of the world and we don’t get the enjoyment of everything looking like winter wonderland but what we do get, is only ours and ours for keeps!
There is something quite mesmerizing about the desert. My recent trip to Tucson, Arizona had me in awe of it’s dangerous beauty and inhabitants– enough to perplex and get the most cautious person elevating their finger above a teddy bear cactus or running it along a turquoise stone or wishing to see a javelina…that last part might only be me. Today, is one of those days, for whatever reason that gets me thinking about the simpler things in life. I recently wrote about how to let things go and how they can affect you less if you consider every moment just a passing memory. Because ultimately that is just what they are.
